Free crochet hat pattern – perfect for leftover wool!

Even though it's still the height of the holiday season, we can already start looking forward to it: fall! πŸ‚ And what's more fun than getting started on a quick, creative crochet project? In this blog post, I'll share the new free crochet pattern for a hat, designed especially for everyone, including beginners, and it's perfect for using up your leftovers.

This crocheted hat is really easy and will only take you a few hours. No complicated stitches from charts – just crochet with double crochet and single crochet. Perfect if you're in the mood for a project you can make at home on the couch or while on vacation in your armchair.

🧢Crochet your leftover wool!
Every crocheter has them: those little half-balls left over after crocheting a blanket or scarf. Don't throw them away, because this pattern is designed so you can crochet it with any scraps you have on hand. The hats in the photos are crocheted with leftover acrylic yarn for a 4-5mm hook. They're crocheted with double yarn. By crocheting with two components, you get a warm, sturdy hat with a super fun color effect.

Hat with or without pompom?
You can easily wear the hat without a pom-pom, but I think a pom-pom on a hat adds just that little bit of extra flair. That's why I've added instructions for making a pom-pom to this crochet pattern. The pattern explains how to make one step by step, including clear photos. This way, it's easy to do, even if you've never done it before.

I've crocheted this hat in three different colorways, all using yarn I had lying around. Get inspired, mix and match your colors, and truly make it your own!

You can find the free crochet pattern for the hat on haakpatroon.com under free patterns.

I'm really curious to see your versions of this leftover hat! Feel free to share them with me on social media or tag me if you post a photo.

Have fun crocheting!

Love,
Myra
